About International Budo Renmei
Bodai Shindo Ryu means The School of the Inherently Enlightened Heart/Mind/Spirit and is based on the philosophy and principles of Sensei Dennis Fritchie. The word Bodai means spiritual awakening, and Shin is used the same way as Kokoro, which means spirit, heart, and mind.
Defining inherently means being part of the very nature of something and, therefore, permanently characteristic of it or necessarily involved in it. Enlightenment is having a sound and open-minded understanding of all the facts or being based on such an understanding.

This site is an excellent complement to your training in the dojo, and we will continue to add meaningful content to this group to help enhance your knowledge and abilities as an IBR Student.
Our mission is to build and maintain an organization that develops self-confidence, self-respect, discipline, honesty, integrity, courage, strength, and focus through diligent practice and relentless training in karatedo, aikido, iaido, and other martial arts.
International Budo Renmei strives to create an environment that promotes the health and well-being of all who train and create an environment free of politics and egos.
Our dedicated instructors work to foster an environment that allows all students to perform at their best. Our instructors are committed to imparting their knowledge and wisdom so that students of International Budo Renmei may realize their full potential.
We welcome and encourage everyone's participation regardless of age, race, religion, and sex. We also seek and encourage diversity among our students and those we train.
We promise to seek out the best training, knowledge, experience, and wisdom that martial arts have to offer and pass it on to our students so that they may become better martial artists and people.
